Bryan Adams sings for peace
Monday, 07 July 2008
Bryan Adams will join Annie Lennox on stage at the Albert Hall for the Peace One Day concert in September.

The so-called Groover From Vancouver will perform a live acoustic performance with Annie for the campaigning gig. The concert, on September 21, will also include a key note speech by Jude Law and a screening of the star-studded documentary The Day After Peace.

Peace One Day founder Jeremy Gilley said Bryan's decision was inspirational. "Bryan Adams is an exciting addition to the musicians performing live to celebrate Peace Day. His music is loved worldwide and his long standing support of noble causes is an inspiration. We are honoured that he will be a part of The Peace One Day Celebration this year," he said.

Jeremy's film The Day After Peace will be screened during the evening. The documentary film follows his 10-year journey to establish an annual day of peace and to ask the countries of the world to recognise this day as an official day of ceasefire and non-violence. The film also features Kofi Annan, The Dalai Lama, Jude Law, Angelina Jolie, Annie Lennox and Jonny Lee Miller. Last year's Peace One Day Celebration sold out and featured performances from Annie, Yusuf (formerly Cat Stevens), Corinne Bailey Rae, James Morrison, Marc Almond and Kate Nash. It was broadcast around the world to an estimated 100 million people.
