Bryan Adams to perform in Tel Aviv

Canadian singer to take part in One Voice festival calling for an end to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
Canadian singer Bryan Adams will perform in Israel and the Palestinian Authority as part of the One Voice festival, which will hold simultaneous peace events on October 18 in Tel Aviv, Jericho, London, Washington, Boston and other cities in the United States and Europe.

According to the festival’s official website, Adams will perform both in Tel Aviv and in Jericho alongside Arab artists, including the DAM rap and hip hop group.
The event in Jericho is being produced by veteran producer and pioneer Palestinian artist George Ibrahim. The event will take place at the Jericho stadium for approximately five hours.

The October 18 event has been named by its organizers “A People’s Summit” and it follows conventions, events and other campaigns held in the past five years.
The Tel Aviv event will be held at the Yarkon Park and will be produced by Israeli producer Shuki Weiss. The performances by Israeli and foreign artists are scheduled to being in the afternoon hours and end at 11 pm.
The Israeli artists who will perform in Tel Aviv include Ehud Banai, Boaz Sharabi, Hadag Nahash, Mashina, Miriam Tukahn, Mosh Ben-Ari, Ninet Tayeb, Rami Fortis and Keren Peles.

This is a wonderful initiative: reach peace through music. I’m a long time fan of Bryan, musically as well as for all the efforts he devotes to noble causes.
I only regret that some comment on the news part of the site (http://www.bryanadams.com/?target=news#news_195) somehow downgrades this spirit, by using the term “occupied Palestine” for Jericho. As far as I know, she has been under Palestinian administration since 1994.
Since then, there has been a lot of blood shed that “ONE VOICE” is trying to stop. So, let us leave the unconstructive polemics to politicians and let the music UNITE !
