Bryan Adams to rock the island on 28 June
Possibly one of the most popular music icons in more than 20 years, Canadian guitarist, singer and songwriter Bryan Adams will perform live at Luxol on 28 June, NnG Promotions announced yesterday.
NnG director Nigel Camilleri said that for the past few years, people had been expecting Bryan Adams to perform in Malta.
“The feedback we have got so far has been extremely encouraging and we are expecting Bryan Adams to attract thousands, possibly the largest crowd ever at any of our concerts,” said Dr Camilleri.
The energetic, charismatic singer is well-known for his live performances, during which, guitar in hand, he sings his own up-tempo pop/rock songs and ballads.
His raspy voice, simple compositions, and straightforward musical approach earned him early critical appraisal.
The live concert in Malta will feature hit songs like Straight from the Heart, Cuts Like a Knife, Run to You, Heaven, Summer of ‘69, (Everything I Do) I Do It for You, Can’t Stop This Thing We Started, Please Forgive Me, All for Love, Have You Ever Really Loved a Woman? and Back To You.
Dr Camilleri said NnG was committed to attracting to Malta top international acts that had a broad popular appeal and this was expected to be one of the biggest of the company’s successes.
Jonastin Zammit, also from NnG, said that watching Bryan Adams live in Milan last week had been an incredible experience. The two-hour performance was charged and full of energy.
Adams’ interaction with the audience was so powerful, said Dr Zammit, and the singer had even invited a member of the audience to join him on stage.
To ensure the local crowd enjoys enjoys this highly energetic performance to the full, the organisers have created a VIP standing area close to the stage. This area, with a limited number of tickets at Lm40 each, is expected to be a hit with Bryan Adams’ fans.
Other tickets include VIP reserved elevated seating, also at Lm40 and general standing at Lm18. Tickets are available form Exotique outlets, Agenda Bookshops, News Kiosk or on-line at www.maltaticket.com
The main sponsors of the event are Vodafone and Coca-Cola. The concert is the second in the Vodafone Music Jam series, which kicked off with a concert last month.
Vodafone Malta Ltd chief commercial officer Mikhail Gerchuk said the company would be offering its clients the chance to buy concert tickets at Lm15 each.
Vodafone customers can send an SMS to 5091-1359 and visit any Vodafone outlet with the code received via SMS. One thousand tickets are being made available for this offer, which will be valid for a month.
General Soft Drinks Company Ltd sales and marketing manager Martin Agius said the concert would kick-start the Coca-Cola Music Campaign for Summer 2007.

The songs that Bryan made in the 1990:s were good.. but the songs is getting old, even the music that he made in the latest. I´m a huge fan but, i´m getting bored:(

His performance here in Malta was the best performance given ever, from any other singers/bands.
His songs sounded so goooood, and so magical, live
He was simply GREAT… and us, the public went mad for him and his music.

I was fortunate enought to be right in front the stage for the concert.
Bryan came running down and gave all of us a high five! It was an amazing experience. He really gave us all in Malta an incredible show.
The sound was perfect, every guitar, every beat. Like he said at Luxol, it was a night to remember.
When he confirmed that he had Maltese relatives, the whole crowd went nuts jumping and screaming.
You’re songs will last forever.
