“The Guardian” Soundtrack Is Now Available Online
An Article by Steven Stanley
“‘Never Let Go’ is a song that features in the new film ‘The Guardian’ (starring Ashton Kutcher & Kevin Costner). It’s about the unsung heroes of the US Coastguards that risk their lives on a daily basis so we, the public have a safer life. The song asks as Adams throws his heart and soul into his latest film effort… and it has to be said, it’s one of his better ones.
The song has a great score arranged by Rabin and orchestrated by Jennifer Hammond. What you would have thought would have been the end of BA & brilliant film scores after the death of Michael Kamen just goes to show you… it’s not. Michael Kamen would have loved this score. It’s right up there and production wise the whole thing blends perfectly as a film soundtrack.
As an Adams cut, it’s just begging for a guitar solo at the end… but as a film soundtrack, it works very well. If it is to be included on the next studio album (due early 2007) then some more guitars wouldn’t go a miss. However if the album rocks your socks off anyway and Bryan is back on form… then this would fit in nicely. Overall it’s a great song and a great tribute to the US Coastguards.
The official soundtrack for the film is out in the ether. It was released in the States on September 12th. Click here to listen to a brief clip and also buy the album on download for $9.44 (which you have to do to hear this song in full).
Due to licensing issues you can’t buy the album and listen to the song in full if you are not from the USA. The song is not sold separately. No doubt it will be in stores soon.

I listened to the brief clip and it seems the song is fantastic. It sounds like as it comes from the universe or you are in the universe and feel thise infinity. It’s touching and exciting. Well done Bryan!

“Never Let Go” I love this song. Of course I love all of your songs. So did my fiance. He had all of your CDs. He and I were watching The Guardian about 2 or 3 months before he passed away of a massive stroke at 45 yrs. He passed away on 6/8/07. Anyway, when he heard your song “Never Let Go” he said that he wanted it to be sung at his memorial service when he died. Little did we know that his time would come so soon. He was in the Navy for 18 yrs and served time overseas with Desert Storm. When I hear this song I’ll always think of him. Thank you for this beautiful song.

I bought the whole soundtrack from “WalMart” online a little while back. Once purchaced, you can make several copies to CD. I have one copy in my car, one at home and one at work. The music is very fitting to the movie and brought back several fond memories of my days in the Coast Guard…as a Rescue Swimmer…from the boats not the helos. Thank you for the works of true art.
