Rocker Adams Makes Bridgend Debut
Canadian rock star Bryan Adams is expected to help draw a crowd of 15,000 to Bridgend on Friday night.

It is one of just six UK dates Adams is playing on his tour, and is the first time such a large concert has been staged in the town.
Mr Golden said: “When we heard Bryan Adams was touring, we put in a bid to say we could hold it and they chose us.
“It’s fantastic news for us and who knows, we may hold other big concerts in the future after this one.”
“I don’t see why not, especially if this one is a success, which I’ve no doubt it will be.

“It’s going to put Bridgend on the map for other international stars and I’m sure there will be people looking at this and if we do a good job here we hope others will be interested in coming.”
Most tickets were sold before Friday, but some are still available.
“This is the biggest event we’ve had here and they’ve been setting up all week,” said Mr Golden.
“There is a bar which must go along the width of the entire pitch and we’ve had to get 40 bar staff to make sure everyone can get served.
“It is an outdoor stadium and we’ve been blessed with the weather, especially after the last few weeks.
“God must be a Bryan Adams fan!”
Bridgend councillor Matthew Voisey called it excellent news for the area.
“The fact that Bryan Adams has chosen to play in Bridgend rather than in neighbouring Swansea or Cardiff demonstrates the area’s potential,” said Mr Voisey.
“Bridgend has been undergoing a multi-million pound regeneration over the last 10 years with pedestrianisation in the town centre, a state-of-the-art new bus station and fast, efficient rail and road links among the many developments that have taken place.
“I’m sure that local traders and the entertainment industry will welcome this significant boost and hope that it is the first of many such events.”
The concert means the rugby league game planned on Sunday has had to move venue for the day to nearby Maesteg RFC.
