Bryan Adams Helps Raise Funds for Make-A-Wish Foundation.
A Bryan Adams’ autographed electric guitar will be auctioned on eBay Charity Auctions from April 27 to May 3, with all proceeds going to the Make - A Wish Foundation® of the Atlantic Provinces.
Opening bid for this unique Squier Stratocaster from Fender which was donated from a local music shop, will be $500 with the goal of raising
enough money to grant one child’s wish. Make-A- Wish Foundation® grants the personal, special wishes of children aged 3 through 17 with a life-threatening illness. The average cost to grant a wish is $6,800.
While in Halifax for the 2006 JUNO Awards earlier this month, Bryan Adams was eager to autograph the guitar, donated by Music Stop, for the Make-A-Wish Foundation®.
During the awards celebration Adams was inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame in recognition of his outstanding contribution toward the greater international recognition of Canadian artists and music.
“The guitar will be on display at our “I’ll Grant Your Wish Charity Dinner Auction” at Casino Nova Scotia on April 29,” says Lisa Blair, Operations Manager of the Make-A-Wish Foundation® of the Atlantic Provinces. “We are holding this event to celebrate 26years of making dreams and wishes come true for children with life-threatening illnesses. Our goal is raise funds so we never have to deny any eligible child their one special wish.
Make-A-Wish® grants the personal, special wishes of children ages 3 though 17, with life- threatening medical conditions, to enrich the
human experience with hope, strength and joy. Founded after a group of caring individuals helped a young boy fulfil his dream of becoming a police officer, the Foundation is now the largest wish-granting organization in the world, making dreams and wishes come true for more than 155,000 children.
