The excitement, I know, is mounting. Why? What other reason do you need than that legendary Canadian rocker Bryan Adams will be performing at the Westridge Park Tennis Stadium on Saturday evening.

Boy, oh boy, what a delicious treat! Now, I’m sure you, like me, love this mega star’s songs, everything from Straight From The Heart, Summer of 69, Everything I Do I Do it For You, Can’t Stop This Thing We Started to Please Forgive Me and The Only Thing That Looks Good On Me Is You.

Born on Guy Fawkes Day on November 5, 1959, Adams, who sold more than 50 million albums worldwide, has received international acclaim: 24 Juno nominations (won 16), 13 Grammy nominations (won three), three Academy Award nominations (won two), and scores more. 

So, I ask you, who wouldn’t fork out the moola to check out this guy live, and who incidentally has also performed with artists including Barbara Streisand, Rod Stewart, Sting, Pavarotti and Andrea Bocelli?

This will be the Canadian’s fourth tour to South Africa and it will undoubtedly be just as outstanding as the first three. He was first here in April 94, and then in May 99 and in the New Year of 2002.

With a two-decade career under his belt, Adams remains one of the biggest recording artists in the world. He holds the record for the longest running number one single in British music history with his hit Everything I Do I Do It For You. In addition to this he has been awarded the notable Order of Canada.
