BRYAN ADAMS’S DIRTY SOCKS AUCTIONED

By bryan adams.org | January 30, 2005

A pair of unwashed socks worn by rocker Bryan Adams has been auctioned for charity on the internet.
The socks were left in the back of a car used to drive the Canadian star to the Children In Need show in Wrexham.

The car firm decided to sell the socks on Ebay to raise money for the Nightingale House Hospice appeal.

The winning bid was £551, but the bidder backed out so the socks have been offered to the second highest bidder for £541.

The 45-year-old singer left the socks in the back of a chauffeur-driven car after he changed his clothes following the Children In Need concert in the town in November.

Ray Squire who runs Wrexham Bluestone Cars said that the star had already signed copies of his new CD, Room Service, to be auctioned to raise money for the cancer hospice.

So when he found the socks, he decided to put them up for auction too.

“He left them in the vehicle along with some towels and pizzas,” said Mr Squire.

The money raised will go to the Nightingale House Hospice

“We had already asked him to sign some CDs so we could try and get some money for the Nightingale Hospice appeal.

“So when we saw that he had just discarded the socks, we took care of them for a while then decided to sell them too.”

The auction ended on Friday evening with the highest bid of £551, but Mr Squire said that he was disappointed when the bidder backed out of the auction.

“We have emailed the second highest bidder to explain what has happened and we hope that they will want to buy the socks instead,” he said.

“It was disappointing but we are doing all we can to raise as much as we can for Nightingale and we hope to get it all resolved by the end of the weekend so we can get the money over to the hospice,” he added.

Bryan Adams donating his dirty socks?

    OH MY GOD!!!!!!

They have got to be kidding!!!

  2. Hugh Murray Says:

    Good Day, Publicist Bulutus
A brief message to Brian from his grade 10 science teacher.

To jog your memory we met once since your semester at Argyle Secondary

To misquote you ” Mister Murray, fruit flies, flies I didn’t know that flies came from maggots, MAGGOTS.”
You were in the only semester, that raised fruit flies and I attempted to teach you genetics in spite of the rumour that you
were interested only in music and your guitar. You were “hands on” into putting the flies to sleep with ether and counting, and
isolating virgin females for breeding with wild males!!

I am the vice chair of the Lower Capilano Community Residents Association. We have started a campaign for park status for the Bowser Trail.
It has been called that name since the 1920’s. It history goes back to the early logging.

The photo op of our event this Sunday, August 19 will be forester Ed Maloch supervising the measurement of a giant cedar stump near Capilano Road.
Walkers of all ages will be asked to do “hands on” to climb ladders to measure this once magnificent tree. The volume of wood will be estimated.

The issue: The Bowser Trail does not have Park status.

On the municipal maps it is a unopened road called “Shaw Street”. Shaw street on exists on paper.

Redevelopment for condominiums will put great pressure on the local politicians to open the Bowser Trail as access to these proposed six to eight story buildings.

What I ask of you is a indication of support for Park Status.

Perhaps a wish that the next time you visit Vancouver you bring your camera and photograph the stump or any of the natural beauties of this trail.
Or the people you use the trail. Joggers, Shoppers, dog walkers, “binners”, animal lovers. The cayotes are back this year. Skunks are everywhere in the neighborhood.
A independant business man (bin man) told me last night of the owl sightings he had made. He will be at the walk on Sunday. The local politicians have been invited to join.

In the North Shore News the invitation will read:
And for more exercise, join the Lower Capilano Residents Community Association on Sunday, August 19 for their first annual ‘Interpretive Walk on the Bowser Trail’. Experts on trees, wildlife, local history and long time community members will be your guides. Everyone is welcome so join us at the bottom of the Zig Zag stairs at 1:30 p.m. for some fresh air, exercise on this one-hour leisurely walk. For more information, please call Hugh Murray at 604-987-4240.

L.C.C.R.A. chair John Miller vice chair Hugh Murray and long time resident Jerome will be had delivering 300 of these messages to our members and neighbors. We hope for a sunny Sunday to enjoy the trail and learn and share there knowledge of this woodland resource.

Regards if this every reaches you. Time is not that critical but it would be good to have support now.
    Hugh Murray
PS I will try to add a couple of my digital JPEGs. Some might be copies from Fugicolour as I still use my old Pentax for special subjects.
